Europa League Day 6, Thursday Dec 12

December 12, 2019 - The Europa League season continues with the last round of matches in the group stages. Only 11 places in the knock-out stages remain as teams face their last chance to book a spot in the Europa League Last 32, and top groups in a bid to avoid the toughest ties when the tournament resumes in February. The final will be played at the Energa Gdansk in Poland on May 27, 2020.

The 2019-20 UEFA Europa League is the 49th season of Europe’s secondary club football tournament.

Thirteen teams, Sevilla, APOEL, Basel, Sporting, LASK Linz, Celtic, Espanyol, Gent, Wolfsburg, Braga, Wolverhampton Wanderers, AZ Alkmaar and Manchester United, have already secured a place in the knock-out stages.

The winners of then tournament automatically qualify for the 2020-21 Champions League group stage, and earn the right to play against the winners of the 2019-20 Champions League in the 2020 UEFA Super Cup.

Clubs qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national league and cup competitions.
