Rugby World Cup 2019 Quarter-finals, Oct 19

By Chris Dinsdale

October 19, 2019 - England and Australia clash at the Oita Stadium in the first quarter-final of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. The match is a repeat of the 2003 final, in which England won the Webb Ellis trophy after an extra-time drop-goal from Jonny Wilkinson.

The 2019 tournament marks the first time that the showpiece has been held in Asia, outside rugby’s traditional heartlands.

New Zealand’s third title in 2015 moved them ahead of their southern hemisphere rivals Australia and South Africa, who have each won the tournament twice.

The tournament now enters the knock-out stages, with the final scheduled to take place at the International Stadium in Yokohama on November 2, where the champions will be presented with the Webb Ellis Cup.
