Shenzhen hosts WTA Finals

October 27, 2019 - November 3, 2019 - The world’s top eight women tennis players contest the season-ending WTA Finals. The Chinese city of Shenzhen is hosting the tournament for the first time, and will stage the most prestigious event on the WTA calendar until 2028.
A strong display in Shenzhen could see Ashleigh Barty crowned as the world’s best female tennis player at the WTA Finals. The Roland Garros champion -- appearing at the showpiece for the first time -- would become the first Australian woman to top the year-end rankings.
Karolina Pliskova, Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep, Bianca Andreescu, Petra Kvitova, Belinda Bencic and Elina Svitolina are the other players who have qualified for the WTA Finals.
