iOS updates and improved iPhone camera coming in 2019

By Ninian Carter

September 10, 2019 - September 20, 2019 - Apple is rumoured to be revealing its annual iPhone and iOS upgrades on Tuesday, September 10 – with a likely launch date of Friday, September 20.

Apple is bringing iPhone users one of its most comprehensive operating system updates with iOS 13, including a new Dark Mode, anti-spam call and e-mail initiatives, a new typing option, revamped Photos app, improved maps and many more features.

Not to be outdone, the iPad is getting its own bespoke iPadOS for the first time, giving users better Apple Pencil control, improved multi-tasking and, finally, external drive support – something users have been asking Apple to make available for years.

A new iOS announcement wouldn’t be the same without a new iPhone to demonstrate it on, so we can safely expect the new 2019 smartphone to be unveiled too.

According to strong supply chain leaks and rumours, the new iPhone looks nearly identical to the current generation devices, with the exception of a wide square camera bump on the rear, to house a triple-lens camera (on some models) that will allow for a larger field of view, wider zoom range, improved low light performance, and the capture of more pixels.
