French Ligue 1 crests 2019-20

August 9, 2019 - May 23, 2020 - French Ligue 1 season, France's premier football competition.

Monaco, who survived a closely-fought relegation battle last season, kick off the new season at home to Olympique Lyon, while eight-time champions Paris Saint-Germain host Nimes, and Lille, surprise second-placed finishers in 2018-19, face Nantes.

New boys Metz, promoted back to Ligue 1 at the first attempt, and Brest, returning to the top tier of French football for the first time since 2013, start their campaigns against Strasbourg and Toulouse respectively.

The highly anticipated “Le Classique” matches between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille take place in Paris on October 27, and in Marseille on March 21.
