English Championship crests 2019-20

By Chris Dinsdale

August 2, 2019 - May 3, 2020 - English Football League Championship season, officially known as the Sky Bet Championship.

Middlesbrough, who narrowly missed out on a potentially lucrative play-off berth on the final day last season, kick off the campaign away to newly promoted Luton Town, while former Premier League rivals Cardiff City, Fulham and Huddersfield Town begin their campaigns against Wigan Athletic, Barnsley -- also promoted from League One -- and Derby County respectively.

Elsewhere, the last of the promoted teams, Charlton Athletic, face Blackburn Rovers. Charlton returned to the second tier of English football with victory in the season-ending play-offs after three seasons in the league below.

The top two teams at the end of the season in May will gain automatic promotion to the Premier League, while teams from third to sixth play off against each other for one final berth.

Opening weekend fixtures (Aug 3 unless stated):
Luton Town v Middlesbrough (Aug 2)
Barnsley v Fulham
Blackburn Rovers v Charlton Athletic
Brentford v Birmingham City
Millwall v Preston North End
Reading v Sheffield Wednesday
Stoke City v Queens Park Rangers
Swansea City v Hull City
Wigan Athletic v Cardiff City
Nottingham Forest v West Bromwich Albion
Bristol City v Leeds United (Aug 4)
Huddersfield Town v Derby County (Aug 5)
