Pixar and Disney dominate animation

By Duncan Mil

June 24, 2019 - Pixar’s Toy Story 4 stormed box office charts, pulling in $118 million in its opening weekend -- the third highest animated film opening ever, after Incredibles 2 and Finding Dory.

Previously, Toy Story 3 was Pixar’s first film ever to open over $100 million, going on to earn over $1 billion worldwide.

Finding Dory set a new animated opening record with $135 million in 2016, before Incredibles 2 blew that record away two years later with $182 million and a final global box office of $1.2 billion.
