Cricket World Cup 2019 Semi-final, Jul 9
July 9, 2019 - India and New Zealand meet in the first semi-final of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, played at Old Trafford, Manchester, England.
The group match between the two sides was rained off, but New Zealand thrashed India by eight wickets in a pre-tournament warm-up. However, India topped their World Cup group while New Zealand lost their last three matches.
Ten teams began the ICC Cricket World Cup, competing to be crowned World Champions. Australia, India, England and New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals as the tournament reaches the knock-out phase.
Reigning champions Australia, who take on England in the second semi-final, are aiming for a record-extending sixth title.
Only five countries have ever won the Cricket World Cup -- of the other champions the West Indies and India have each won the tournament twice, while Pakistan and Sri Lanka have one title apiece.
The final will take place at Lord’s, in London, on July 14.
