Eurosceptic parties surge in EU elections
By Mike Tyler
May 28, 2019 - Eurosceptic parties enjoyed a strong showing in European elections, as voters abandoned the traditional centre-left and centre-right blocs that have dominated EU politics for the last 40 years.
While the populists increased their share of seats in the European Parliament, they were denied the sort of continent-wide upheaval some had predicted, with around 75 percent of voters still backing parties that support Europe, according to The New York Times.
