Formula E 2018-19 Round 9 - Monaco

By Tony Mullins

May 11, 2019 - Round 9 of the Formula E 2018-19 championship takes place in Monaco. The 1.76km circuit is a shortened version of the Formula 1 course. Instead of heading up the hill after Sainte Devote, the electric racers turn sharp right along Avenue J.F. Kennedy, heading back towards the Nouvelle Chicane, which effectively becomes a squared-off hairpin. The remainder of the lap is the same as the Grand Prix course.

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag had hoped to use the longer circuit this season with the faster Gen2 cars, but the FIA objected to the proposal.

2018-19 is the fifth season of the FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s first fully electric international single-seater street racing series. The new season features the new Gen2 cars, a new race format, new cities and new teams and drivers.
