By Mike Tyler

March 26, 2019 - Cyclone Idai’s death toll has risen above 750 in the three southern African countries hit 10 days ago by the storm as workers restore electricity and try to prevent the outbreak of cholera.

Flooding caused by the Tropical Cyclone Idai weather system since early March has affected nearly three million people in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, according to the UN humanitarian agency OCHA.

At least 765 people have been killed, with the death toll expected to rise.
