Dubai World Cup winners

By Chris Dinsdale

March 30, 2019 - The 24th running of the world’s richest raceday, including the $12 million Dubai World Cup, takes place at Dubai’s Meydan Racecourse in the United Arab Emirates.

The raceday moved to the new Meydan Racecourse when it opened in 2010, but the track’s controversial synthetic Tapeta surface was replaced with a coventional dirt track in 2015 after a fall in the number of U.S.-trained horses.

Connections of Thunder Snow, trained by eight-time World Cup winner Saeed bin Suroor, are aiming for a second successive triumph after Christophe Soumillon rode the horse to victory in record time last year.
