July 24, 2020 - September 6, 2020 - The 2020 summer Olympic Games, the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, take place in Tokyo, Japan – followed two weeks later by the Paralympic Games.

Olympic mascot: MIRAITOWA
Based on connecting the Japanese words "Mirai" (future) and "towa" (eternity) – chosen to promote a sense of hope around the world.

Paralympic mascot: SOMEITY
Comes from "Someiyoshino" (a popular cherry blossom), and the phrase "so mighty". Character features tactile sensors, and can show
enormous mental and physical strength.
