Family affair as Modric wins Ballon d’Or
December 3, 2018 -- The Ballon d’Or 2018 ceremony has taken place at the Grand Palais in Paris, an annual football award presented by France Football, with Luka Modric winning the prestigious prize.
Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric has claimed the 2018 Ballon d’Or after a vote by journalists for France Football, breaking a decade of dominance by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The award caps a stellar year for Modric after captaining Croatia to the World Cup final and winning a third successive Champions League title with Real Madrid.
