Explosives sent to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama
October 24, 2018 - An intense investigation is underway after explosive devices were sent to the homes of former U.S. President Barack Obama and ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and to CNN offices in New York.
Two days earlier a bomb was discovered at the home of liberal philanthropist and financier George Soros in the New York suburbs.
Clinton, Obama, Soros and CNN are all prominent critics of President Donald Trump, and have been targets of recent conservative political attacks.
The packages were intercepted by the U.S. Secret Service personnel which screen mail sent to major political figures.
The pipe bombs were sent less than two weeks before the midterm elections.
