“Intel squad” sent to target Khashoggi
October 17, 2018 - The pro-government Turkish newspaper Sabah has identified fifteen suspects linked to the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi as having links to the Saudi royal family and military.
Three of the 15 suspects in the case -- each pictured in images released by Turkish officials -- are linked to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s security detail. One of the suspects, Maher Abdulaziz Mutreb, has been pictured travelling with the prince in France, Spain and the U.S., perhaps as a bodyguard.
Two other suspects, Muhammed Saad Alzahrani and Thaar Ghaleb Alharbare, are also believed to be bodyguards to Prince Mohammed.
Both King Salman and Prince Mohammed have denied to President Trump that they know what happened to Khashoggi. Trump has accepted this and floated the idea that the Washington Post journalist was the victim of “rogue killers”.
