High-level White House departures
October 10, 2018 -- Nikki Haley announced on Tuesday that she would step down as U.S. ambassador to the UN at the end of the year.
Hayley is leaving President Trump’s reputation-crushing administration with her stature enhanced and political prospects bolstered, unlike most top political players who have quit.
The 46-year-old former South Carolina governor is one of the few women in the Trump cabinet. She gave no reason for her resignation but dismissed speculation she was planning to run against Trump in 2020.
