Macron fails to convince 80% of French

By Ninian Carter

September 18, 2018 - Sixty percent of French people disapprove of Emmanuel Macron’s performance, a rise of 32% from the time of the presidential election.

Fewer than one-fifth of French voters approve of Emmanuel Macron’s performance since he became president 16 months ago, according to a recent poll.

The Kantar Sofres-onepoint survey (published by RTL, LCI and Le Figaro) shows that 60 percent have a negative view of his presidency, with only 19 percent holding a positive opinion.

The main concern for 55 percent of those polled was improving purchasing power, while unemployment was a priority for 40 percent.
