U.S. Open women’s preview 2018
August 27-September 9, 2018 -- The U.S. Open, the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament of the season, takes place at Flushing Meadows, New York.
Despite a number of off-court battles Serena Williams will continue her comeback at Flushing Meadows, where she has another chance to win a 24th Grand Slam, equalling the all-time record of Margaret Court. Victory in New York would give Serena her seventh U.S Open title.
World No.1 Simona Halep, the 2018 Roland Garros champion, and reigning Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber will both provide tough competition, while Sloane Stephens, the 2017 U.S. Open winner, will hope to mount a sustained challenge after a season of inconsistent form.
