Turkish forces surround Kurdish town in northern Syria

March 14, 2018 - The Turkish military says it has encircled the Kurdish-held town of Afrin in northern Syria, putting hundreds of thousands of civilians under siege and marking a significant military advance in the seven-week operation.
An estimated 700,000 people are encircled in Afric and nearby areas. Syrian government forces are reportedly rishing in troops and tanks to secure Menagh airbase and the town of Tal Rafaat.
