March 24, 2018 - The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race returns for the 164th contest as international crews from England’s top universities take to the River Thames in a gruelling four-mile rowing race between Putney and Mortlake.
The Boat Race is one of the world’s oldest sporting events, first raced in 1829. Cambridge leads the series with 82 victories to Oxford’s 80. Over 250,000 people watch the race from the river banks, and more than 15 million watch it on television.
