Iran-Iraq earthquake

November 13, 2017 - Hundreds of people were killed in Iran and Iraq on Sunday when a powerful magnitude 7.3 earthquake hit the region. Officials expect the casualty toll to rise when search and rescue teams reach remote areas of Iran.

At least 150 people are reported dead in the Iranian town of Sarpol-e Zahab, with the main hospital severely damaged

On the Iraqi side of the border, the most extensive damage was in the town of Darbandikhan, east of the city of Sulaimaniyah in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region.
