Haramain high-speed rail project ready for launch

November 1, 2017 - Final preparations are underway in Saudi Arabia before the official launch of the Haramain high-speed train line, which is designed to transport up to 60 million passengers a year.

The 450km route linking the Muslim holy cities of Makkah and Madinah is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2018, with partial operations from December 2017.
