Hamilton wins fourth World Championship

By Chris Dinsdale

October 30, 2017 - Lewis Hamilton’s ninth-place finish in Mexico was enough to secure the 2017 crown over rival Sebastian Vettel. It is Hamilton’s fourth world driver’s title, making him Britain’s most successful Formula 1 driver of all time, surpassing Jackie Stewart.

He joined a select club of only five drivers with four or more titles, comprising fellow four-time winners Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost, Juan Manuel Fangio on five and record holder Michael Schumacher on seven.
