F1 Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring

By Phil Bainbridge

July 7, 2017 - July 9, 2017 - The Austrian Grand Prix takes place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, formerly known as the Österreichring A1 ring when it hosted the Grand Prix from 1970 to 1987.

It is now called The Red Bull Circuit after substantial redevelopment by Red Bull. Situated at over 600m above sea level, the circuit is surrounded by spectacular scenery, and is particularly undulating. It was here in 2002 that Rubens Barrichello controversially handed victory to Michael Schumacher, his team mate at Ferrari within sight of the finishing line.
