April 30, 2017 - May 7, 2017 - Centrist Emmanuel Macron has gone through to the second round of the French election, where he will face far-right leader Marine Le Pen on May 7.

With 97% of votes counted, Macron, a former investment banker, stands on 23.9% with Le Pen on 21.4%.
