Australia’s extreme summer weather

By Mike Tyler

March 8, 2017 - Australia has experienced a summer of intense heatwaves, bushfires and flooding, with more than 200 records broken over 90 days, according to a report by the independent Climate Council group.

According to a new report from Australia’s Climate Council, 89 locations endured record summer rainfall and 66 locations had record summer temperatures. “Even more extreme heat is on the way in future unless rapid and deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are achieved around the world,” the report warned.
