Cyprus-Egypt gas pipe deal

September 8, 2016 - Cairo has signed a preliminary deal with Cyprus to build an underwater pipeline linking Cyprus’ Aphrodite natural gas field with the Egyptian coastline. Egypt has two LNG facilities in both Edco and Damietta that are being underutilised. From 2020 they could be used to export Cypriot gas to foreign markets.
