August 12, 2016 - May 21, 2017 - Portuguese Primeira Liga season, officially known as Liga NOS. Rio Ave kick off the new season with a home tie against Porto, while reigning champions Benfica travel to Tondela, and Sporting Clube host Maritimo. Newly promoted teams Chaves and Feirense begin their campaigns on Saturday against Nacional and Estoril Praia respectively.
