World’s six deadliest conflicts

May 5, 2016 - Around 167,000 people died in armed conflicts in 2015 across the world, with six conflicts – Syria, Iraq, Central America, Mexico, Afghanistan and Nigeria’s battle with Boko Haram – accounting for nearly 80% of fatalities globally, according to the the Armed Conflict Survey published by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
