Htin Kyaw profile

March 10, 2016 - Htin Kyaw, a close aide of Aung San Suu Kyi, has been named as her party’s presidential candidate as the Nobel laureate looks to rule the formerly junta-run Myanmar through a trusted proxy. The NLD controls Parliament after last year's election so it is almost certain Htin Kyaw will become president when a vote is held later this month.
