European Rugby Champions Cup final 2015

By Chris Dinsdale

May 2, 2015 - Clermont take on defending champions Toulon in the inaugural final of the European Rugby Champions Cup, which replaced the Heineken Cup as Europe's top-tier rugby competition. The showpiece, taking place at Twickenham stadium, is the fifth all-French European final since 1996 and a repeat of the 2013 final, in which Toulon claimed a narrow 16-15 win. Clermont are hoping to win their first title, while Toulon are looking to become the first team to seal three successive titles.

Explanation of terms used in Team Statistics section:

Points scored / conceded: Points are allocated when either team scores a try (5), conversion (2), penalty (3) or drop goal (3).
Try: Grounding of the ball after the goal line.
Turnover: Team concedes possession after losing the ball during a breakdown of play or tackle.
Tackle: One or more opposition players grasp the ball carrier, successfully bringing them to the ground.
Metres gained: Total distance the team has run with the ball before being tackled.
Offloads: Short pass by player being tackled to teammate, to retain possession of ball.
