Champions League matchtracker

By Phil Bainbridge

September 16, 2014 - June 6, 2015 - UEFA Champions League season

This interactive graphic includes live results and statistics and is from the Graphic News Sportlive series.

Publishers with appropriate permissions can paste the embed code (visible after login) onto their web page, and then insert the MatchID of the match of their choice where indicated. The Match IDs are visible after login in a table to the right of the download page. The size can be adjusted by changing the scale factor given in the embed code.

Before a match, the graphic shows the team line-up or squad (”Teams”) and head-to-head statistics (”Head-to-Head”). During the match, the timeline (”Live Match”) shows key events in the match as they happen -- goals, substitutions, red and yellow cards. Alternatively, ”Live Statistics” shows possession, shots on target, fouls against and saves. The timeline and live statistics enable followers to track the progress of a match, hence the term “Matchtracker”.

The time a match is due to start is given at the top. This is the time as on your computer. The stop watch at the top indicates the number of minutes into the match.

Matchtrackers are also available in landscape format for use on websites -- see the Tournament Guide GN31990. Simply insert the MatchID of your choice into the embed code where indicated. The graphic then starts with the matchtracker rather than the overview page of the Guide.

Although using the embed code supplied by Graphic News is recommended, these graphics may also be downloaded and published with or without the use of iframes https://www.graphicnews.org/core/info.php?q=554
