April 7, 2014 - May 12, 2014 - India’s general election, pitting Hindu nationalist leader Narendra Modi against the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty’s ruling Congress Party, will see around 814 million people voting in a nine-phased election over six weeks at more than 930,000 polling stations.
