Centenary of commercial flight

January 1, 2014 - The St. Petersburg-Tampa Airboat Line became the world's first scheduled passenger airline service, operating between the cities of St. Petersburg and Tampa in Florida. The service was short-lived ­— lasting less than four months — but it paved the way for today's daily transcontinental flights.
