By Phil Bainbridge

June 15, 2011 - Ash from the Puyehue-Cordon Caullé volcano which erupted in Chile on June 4 rose over 15,000m into the atmosphere. The smaller particles have since been carried around the world on a high altitude jetstream where they have disrupted aviation on three continents.
