Hungary marks the 50th anniversary of the revolution against Soviet occupation. The 13-day uprising was brutally suppressed by Soviet tanks, leaving 2,500 dead, over 13,000 wounded and the biggest exodus of refugees in Europe since World War II. Over 200,000 people eventually fled to the West to escape the hardline communist regime. Graphic shows timeline of Hungarian Revolution.
