The two-person TRITON 4000/2 Abyssal Explorer has a 4,000-metre depth rating, making it the perfect submersible for repeated trips to the RMS Titanic, which lies 3,800m below the Atlantic.
While diving, the “Gull Wing” design provides an unrivalled versatility of operation. The wings are retracted for ascent and descent and can manoeuvre in and around incredibly tight spaces.
The low placement of the lighting and wing-tip cameras is ideal for macro work, scientific observation or close filming.
The Abyssal Explorer is the only acrylic-hulled submersible commercially certified for dives to 4,000m.
In 2021, Larry Connor and Patrick Lahey embarked on a remarkable journey. They completed three deep dives in just five days at the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean. Their vessel, a Triton-built sub known as DSV Limiting Factor, reached sea depths of about 10,600m, a testament to their pioneering spirit.
In 2022, Larry Connor, along with two other paying customers and a retired NASA astronaut, embarked on a historic SpaceX flight to the International Space Station. This was the first mission manned only by private citizens, marking NASA’s first foray into space tourism.
