Ukraine’s Armeechef berichtet von taktischem Rückzug im Osten
April 29, 2024 - Ukraine’s top commander says Kyiv’s outnumbered troops have fallen back from three villages in the eastern Donetsk region as Russian troops advance.
The statement by Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi reflected Ukraine’s deteriorating position in the east that Kyiv hopes it can stabilise once it takes delivery of U.S. weapons under a $61 billion aid package approved last week.
“The situation at the front has worsened,” Syrskyi wrote on the Telegram app, describing the “most difficult” areas as west of occupied Marinka and northwest of Avdiivka, the town captured by Russian forces in February, Reuters said.
