Film Memorabilien Auktion kann £1 Million aus Requisiten erzielen

By Ninian Carter

November 9, 2023 - November 12, 2023 - Film und TV Memorabilien, inklusive der Requisiten von James Bond, Indiana Jones und Star Wars, werden in London versteigert, wobei ein Original C-3PO Kopf £1Million an Erlös einbringen dürfte.

A one of-a-kind C-3PO droid head, as worn by actor Anthony Daniels who also provided the character’s voice in Star Wars: A New Hope (1977), is set to go under the hammer at an auction in London.

The screen-matched prop – meaning a film artefact that can be categorically connected to the same on-screen object – features unique dents on the forehead, left eyebrow and chin and was used in a scene where C-3PO is on a comm link with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo who are trapped in the Death Star trash compactor, and in the climactic medal ceremony at the end of the movie.

C-3PO and his companion R2-D2 are the only characters to feature in all nine Star Wars movies, with this being the only complete C-3PO helmet from A New Hope held in a private collection – that of Anthony Daniels himself.

Lot #347 will see bids start at £250,000, with an estimated sale price of £500,000 to £1,000,000.

Other lots featuring in the auction include:

• Lot #36: Marty McFly’s hoverboard – Back to the Future Parts II (1989), and III (1990) – £70,000-£140,000
• Lot #157: Russell Crowe’s Colosseum armour – Gladiator (2000) – £50,000-£100,000
• Lot #202: Indy’s bullwhip – Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) – £100,000-£200,000
• Lot #210: Hand-painted poster artwork – Thunderball (1965) – £80,000-£160,000
• Lot #229: T-rex reference eye – Jurassic Park (1993) – £5,000-£10,000
