Dokumente in Trumps Anklage
June 12, 2023 -
Die Anklage gegen Donald Trump beschuldigt ihn, 31 streng geheime Dokumente in ungesicherten Räumen seines Florida Besitzes gelagert zu haben. Dokumente stammen aus dem Pentagon, CIA, NSA und NRO.
On August 8, 2022, the FBI executed a search warrant at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club, seizing 102 documents with classification markings -- 27 in Trump’s office and 75 in boxes in a store room.
According to the indictment, the documents included details about U.S. nuclear weapons, spy satellites and classified White House briefings.
The U.S. federal government has a relatively simple process for classifying documents, explains Bruce Riedel, a senior fellow and director of the Brookings Intelligence Project.
“The most sensitive documents are TOP SECRET Codeword documents. ”
Most State Department cables are SECRET. Some are CONFIDENTIAL, the lowest classification. Many of the most sensitive documents are marked NODIS, which stands for No Distribution, meaning only a named individual or selected persons can see the data. Another classification is NOFORN -- foreign governments cannot share the document. The indictment lists 22 of 31 documents as NOFORN.
“Presidents often have a temporary SCIF on their property or vacation homes,” explains Riedel.
A SCIF or “Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility” is a data centre or secure room that guards against electronic surveillance and suppresses sensitive military and security information data leakage.
However, Trump stored boxes of documents on the stage of Mar-a-Lago’s ballroom and in a storage area, where guests can select beach chairs and umbrellas.
Six of the 31 top-secret documents are marked TK, standing for Talent Keyhole -- a classification meaning data originated from U.S. spy satellites.
