Polizei im indischen Staat Odisha hat "Tod durch Versäumnis" festgestellt, der sich auf Indiens jüngstes Eisenbahnunglück seit 20 Jahren bezieht, bei dem über 275 Menschen tödlich verunglückt sind.
The report filed by police did not name any specific person as being responsible but stated that “culpability of specific railway employees has not been ascertained, which will be unearthed during the investigation”.
Preliminary findings point to a failure of the electronic signal system as the likely cause for the collision.
The impact of the crash threw coaches of the Coromandel Express onto a third track and they rammed into the rear carriages of the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express that was coming down the line at a high speed.
More than 1,000 suffered injuries and were taken to hospitals. Some families are still searching for their loved ones.
More than 3,000 passengers are thought to have been on board the two passenger trains.
