Republikaner DeSantis könnte 2024 Präsidentschaftskandidat werden

November 9, 2022 - Der Republikaner Ron DeSantis hat mit einem überragenden Sieg eine zweite Amtszeit als Gouverneur von Florida erreicht. Damit werden Spekulationen befeuert, dass DeSantis 2024 als Kandidat für die Präsidentschaft antreten wird.

DeSantis, the 44-year-old governor of Florida, stormed to victory in a landslide. With 96 per cent of precincts reporting, DeSantis led Democratic candidate, Charlie Crist, by a 20-point margin, a significant improvement on the three-point margin Donald Trump beat Joe Biden by in the state just two years ago.

DeSantis is considered by many to be the most likely candidate to supplant Trump as the Republican candidate to run for president in 2024.

Trump has warned DeSantis against running for president in 2024, saying doing so would harm the Republican Party.

He also threatened to release unflattering information about the 44-year-old, without providing details.
