Millionen von Twitter Anwender erhalten Hilfe gegen beleidigende Meldungen
February 16, 2022 -
Twitter erweitert seinen "Safety Mode" Versuch auf Millionen willkürlich ausgewählte, englisch-sprechende Anwender im Versuch, giftige und beleidigende Posts zu unterbinden.
Social media giant Twitter, is broadening access to its “Safety Mode” feature, designed to defend users from toxicity and abuse that is still very much a problem on its platform.
Introduced to a small group of 750 test users in September 2021, the new setting has now been rolled out to millions of English-speakers in the United States, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
Safety Mode works by automatically blocking accounts for seven days which are replying to an original poster with harmful language or sending uninvited, repetitive replies such as insults and hateful remarks or mentions.
While Safety Mode is enabled, those blocked accounts will be unable to follow the original poster’s Twitter account, see their tweets and replies or send them Direct Messages.
The idea is simply to give users a way to quickly defend against trolls without having to manually block each account that’s harassing them — a near impossible task if a tweet goes viral.
