Im November ist es vor allem die COP26 Weltklimakonferenz in Glasgow, Öffnung der US Grenzen für voll geimpfte internationale Besucher und der Start des ersten Nano-Satelliten ganz aus Holz.

Nov, New Zealand: The world’s first “wooden satellite” is scheduled to launch. WISA Woodsat, a 1kg Finnish nanosatellite, uses a special type of coated plywood panels.

Nov 1-12, UK: Glasgow hosts COP26, billed as the most important climate change forum since the Paris Agreement talks of 2015. World leaders are under pressure to avert a climate catastrophe, but several key figures have chosen to stay away.

Nov 3-7, Sweden: Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson will replace outgoing Prime Minister Stefan Lofven as leader of the Social Democrats at the party’s congress, paving the way for her to become Sweden’s first-ever female head of government.

Nov 5, Sweden: Pop legends Abba release their first studio album for 40 years. Abba Voyage features 10 new songs and heralds a “revolutionary” set of concerts in 2022.

Nov 8, U.S.: Land and air borders reopen to fully vaccinated international visitors, ending rigid travel restrictions
that barred much of the world from entering the U.S. for as long as 21 months.

Nov 15, Philippines: Speculation is rising that Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte, could yet make a last-minute entry into the 2022 presidential race.

Nov 16, U.S.: A self-portrait of a tearful Frida Kahlo featuring her cheating husband, Diego Rivera, is expected to smash auction records for a Latin American artwork.

Nov 28, Honduras: Leading opposition parties have united behind Xiomara Castro, the wife of former president Manuel Zelaya, as their candidate in the presidential election. The alliance presents a serious challenge to the ruling National Party.
