August 16, 2021 - Die Zahl der Toten in Haiti nach dem Erdbeben mit Stärke 7,2 am Samstag ist inzwischen auf knapp 1.300 gestiegen, weitere 5.700 sind verletzt.

The country’s civil protection agency said 1,297 dead had been counted by Sunday, a day after the quake turned thousands of structures into rubble and set off frantic rescue efforts ahead of a potential deluge from an approaching storm.

Tropical Depression Grace is predicted to reach Haiti on Monday night. The civil protection agency said Haitians must expect strong winds, heavy rain, rough seas, landslides and flooding.
