December 17, 2020 -
Barack Obamas "A Promised Land" ist auf bestem Weg das meist-verkauften Buch politischer Memoiren zu werden. Über 3,3 Millionen wurden allein im ersten Monat verkauft.
The former president’s memoir sold nearly 890,000 copies in the U.S. and Canada in its first 24 hours -- a first-day sales record for Penguin Random House.
“A Promised Land,” the first of two planned volumes, covers Obama’s election in 2008 and much of his first term.
Obama still has to catch up to his wife, Michelle Obama, whose “Becoming” has sold more than eight million copies in North America since coming out in 2018. “Becoming” is published by Crown Publishing.
First-week sales of “A Promised Land” hit 1.7 million eclipsing Bill Clinton’s “My Life” which moved one million copies and George W. Bush’s “Decision Points,” which sold 775,000 copies.
