ATP Tour zur Rückkehr bereit

By Phil Bainbridge

August 14, 2020 - October 11, 2020 - Die ATP Tour beginnt wieder mit dem Citi Open in Washington – erstes von sechs Tennisturnieren, inklusive zwei Grand Slams und zwei Masters 1000 Events in New York und Rom.

The Australian Open in January -- won by Novak Djokovic -- is the only Grand Slam to have taken place in 2020. Following the cancellation of the entire grass court season, including Wimbledon, the aim is now to complete two further Grand Slam showpieces at the U.S. Open in New York, and the rescheduled Roland Garros on the Paris clay.

Revised calendar 2020:
Aug 14 Citi Open, Washington (ATP 500)
Aug 22 Western and Southern Open, New York (Masters 1000, relocated from Cincinnati)
Aug 31 U.S. Open, New York (Grand Slam)
Sep 08 Generali Open, Kitzbuhel (ATP 250)
Sep 13 Mutua Madrid Open, Madrid (Masters 1000)-STORNIERT
Sep 20 Internazionali BNL d’Italia, Rome (Masters 1000)
Sep 27 Roland Garros, Paris (Grand Slam)

Further tournaments to be confirmed.

The top eight players who collect the most ranking points over the calendar year will compete in the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals, to be played in London pending further schedule announcements.

Points that contribute to the Race to London ranking are accumulated in the Grand Slams, and ATP World Tour (ATP World Tour Masters 1000, ATP World Tour 500 series, and ATP World Tour 250 series).

Ranking points are awarded for each event -- ranging from 2,000 for the winner of a Grand Slam tournament to 250 for the winner of a 250 series event.
