KLIMAWANDEL

Greta Thunberg segelt wieder

By Jordi Bou

December 2, 2019 - December 13, 2019 - Die Klimaaktivistin Greta Thunberg wird am 25. COP25 Klimagipfel in Madrid, Spanien, teilnehmen.

The Swedish teen climate activist, who refuses to fly because of the environmental impact of air travel, set off for Spain on November 13 from Hampton, Virginia, with an Australian couple of YouTubers aboard solar-powered catamaran called La Vagabonde.

The 16-year-old had planned to travel to Chile, but the country pulled out of hosting the COP25 climate meeting because of protests there.

Thunberg is heading back across the Atlantic Ocean after nearly three eventful months spreading her climate message across North America.

While in the U.S., she appeared on “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” in New York, protested alongside Sioux leaders in North Dakota, biked in Santa Monica with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and joined school strikes every Friday from Iowa City to Los Angeles.

In September, Greta gave an impassioned speech before the United Nations Climate Action Summit, where she scolded world leaders for not acting quickly and decisively to combat climate change.
