Meilenstein F1 Grand Prix in China

By Chris Dinsdale

April 14, 2019 - Die Formel Eins, gegründet 1950, feiert ihren 1.000sten Grand Prix in China auf der Shanghai Internationalen Rennstrecke.

Just two countries, Great Britain and Italy, have staged a World Championship Grand Prix every season since Formula 1’s inception in 1950. Monaco, Belgium and Germany round out the top five circuits in terms of race numbers.

Italian driver Giuseppe Farina claimed the first Formula 1 Grand Prix, held at Silverstone, and went on to win the inaugural World Championship.

Michael Schumacher has the most F1 race victories with 91.

British driver Lewis Hamilton is the current Formula One World Champion. He claimed his fifth world title last season, racing for Mercedes.

The Formula One World Championship, the premier class of motor racing, is organised by the governing body of international motorsport, the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
